A whimsical lamp made from porcelain and layers of textural glazes.
For this body of work Josh Taylor has experimented with layering techniques to develop the surface qualities, which has created a colourful and painterly result. Taylor has predominantly used porcelain for these works, which compared to other clays reveals mark making with greater clarity and better holds the colour pigment of a glaze.
Taylor has described this collection as “colourful and dirty like rubbish; I have felt like now is the right time to over-indulge in this sort of vibrancy.”
