Lauren Wong

Lauren Wong is an architect and maker based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Aotearoa. As an urban maker, she operates from her 70sqm apartment where space constraints have directly influenced the way she works, preferring handform ceramic pieces with minimal use of tools and equipment. Her works reflect her creative ethos in the pursuit of understated and enduring design, through careful command of organic material, light, form and evocative texture. Her process is highly intuitive; she is guided by the form that emerges as she works, adding the barest of detail to complete each piece.
